Any recommendations for weight charts. I am going to weigh Hank tomorrow but don't have a clue what is good and what is not.

Not sure what you mean. When my babies go to new homes I include weight charts with the care package. As hatchlings I recommend people stick to approx 2-3 grams gain a month and increase this as they get older. It's impossible to say what a tortoise should weigh at any given age as depending on feeding etc they will all be different. The best guide in my opinion is to look at the shell and examine the lighter coloured growth lines around the scutes, especially above the marginal (edge) ones. The lighter coloured visible lines should be the same as a thin pencil line, no wider. This will keep them in line with the growth of wild tortoises, which is optimal growth. Hope this helps :)

Ahh ok, I was under the impression they had some kind of target weights or 'good' weights for their age. Ok I will have a read up about growth lines and check him out lol

Thanks xx
