Hi can anyone tell me if fan assisted incubators are suitable for hatching tortoise eggs. I have read conflicting thoughts , so I need to know what is suitable to purchase.
Many thanks

I use home made incubators and they have been very reliable. Fan assisted apparently can be too drying, which you don't need for torts. A friend bought a super duper model and put it in the cupboard after first use.

Me too, I also use homemade incubators they've worked really well over the years. :)

Hi, thanks for that. It's just that I've been offered a fan assisted incubator and needed to know if it would work or should I totally avoid it

It has also got humidity control so would this prevent the eggs drying out
Thanks

It would depend on how that worked TBH. You could give it a go, but I would use a separate hair hygrometer in there if it was me, just to be sure.
