Hi all,

I'm just about to get two hatchling Hermann tortoises and will be putting them in a 4' x 2' table. I've just got a quick question as to where to keep my digital thermometer probes and how to run, locate and hide the cables.

I understand I need to keep one in the "cool" end and one in the basking spot. It's the more subtle elements like trying to ensure they don't chew on cables and trying to keep it aesthetically pleasing etc.

Thank you very much! :)

To be honest, once you've set it up and know you are getting correct temps you don't need them. So long as they can get a basking temp of 32 degrees C they will move themselves in and out of the heat as they need it. You never need cables. As for aesthetically pleasing, they will soon show you how they like things, which is messy and not usually to the liking of their humans :) Good luck :)
