Hello! Tomorrow I am bringing home my very first Hermann's Tortoise! I am thrilled. I do have some reptile experience as I used to breed various species, but that was long ago. My main question is how much space will I need for a baby? He/She was hatched in August.

Welcome to tortoise keeping. Basically give as much space as you can, but I always say upwards of three feet length. This is to allow a decent temperature gradient, so that the little one can choose its own temperature and conditions.

Thanks! My boyfriend surprised me with a tortoise table that is 3 ft by 2 ft. I'm thrilled.
