currently using natural beech woodchips on tortoise table,

local garen centre has woodland bark, can this be used safely, instead of woodchip, with tortoise?

all help and advice appreciated

Both of these substrates are unsuitable for tortoises, as they don't allow thermoregulation or correct burying. Pet shop pellets etc are also not suitable. They harbour mould spores if urinated on and can kill if ingested. You need to get either soil or coir, both of which need to be watered to allow natural humidity.

No problem. Petshops rarely give good advice re tortoises otherwise they wouldn't sell much lol
