First Ever Hibernation Advice Please

04 September 2012 - 10:56 AM

Hi all, This will be my first year of hibernation with my tort. He is now 3 and a half and i have heard of two ways to hibernate my little pal. One being the fridge method and one being in a bi full soil. Which would be the best suited?? Also when should i start the hibernation and for how long with him still being little. Is there any good advice books out there as the one i have is very basic advice on what to do with all aspects of tort life. Thanks Durb and Ya'ma.

Hi guy's. I took my tort to the vets for worming on wed. I have bathed her today, she went to the toilet while she was in there. I pickex her up after she'd done her bit and there was a little pink bit sticking out of her tail. This has now gone back in. Is this the norm??

Happy Dad.

Diet Issues

03 June 2012 - 06:05 PM

Hi all. I took my little tort to the vets the other day for a check up. She has now been living with us for a week and doesnt really eat that much the vets said she was a little thin on the legs and to try and feed her up a bit. But she only eats small amounts. Potters around for a while the nods back off to sleep under her heat lamp. Any suggestions or tips on how to get her to eat a little more. Were trying a few different things and have found she really likes butter cups.😊
