He is 4.5years old and weighs 294g.

His fridge is in our kitchen but it is not as warm as the rest of the house, its about 15degrees.

I think his fridge is broken as its now gone up to 10degrees, even with the additional fan on to try and cool it down.

He was three in September. We started preparing his outdoor enclosure but didn't get it finished so hopefully he will be outside from this summer.

Thanks Sue, glad to hear it's not unheard of. Although I am surprised he was dehydrated as he was bathed every day whilst he was winding down and then ordinarily he is bathed 2-3 times per week.

Hi everyone,

Strangely Derek has gained 6grams during hibernation. I know its mentioned above that its normal to gain the odd gram but is this amount normal?

He was 180grams when we started winding down, he maintained the same weight up until when we started hibernation on 9th January, however when weighed today he has gained 6 grams?

We're using the fridge method, the same as last year, he's in a box with just the same soil that's used in his table and the temperature is stable between 3-4 degrees.
