#65086 Advice For Prospective New Owner

Posted by Kori5 on 02 November 2015 - 01:17 PM

For outdoor/indoor table I would recommend something you can move depending on the season. We made him a table from Obs wooden pieces ( don't know the english word) that are 35 cm height. It was done in one afternoon and is great. You can use an old closet or bookshell and place it horizontally :). It depends on the tortoise size.

We made his much bigger encloudire this saturday. It is 7 ft 4 ft and 35 cm height. Maybe not ideal but it took half of my room and he seems really happy :D. He ate yesterday twice! Dandelions plantain a bunch of it. He also ate today. So you were right, of course, his previous enclousure wad too small and maybe the temperature gradient wasn't working. We're still adding some final details so I''ll post pics :). Thank you so much!

I did a test and offered him cherry tomato and apple and he did want to take a bite. I think it is a food addiction case. I read a topic about a hermann addicted to pellets and their fear of losing 10 g in 10 days. You commented how they wont starve themselves and that it takes sometimes a month of them not wanting to eat healthy food. I'm such a paranoid new mummy and never had reptiles, only dogs and when a dog doesn't want to eat you know hes ill. So I' m really worried and soak him keep his coconut coir wet-ish and I'm working on his bigger enclousure :).
