Hi, if you scroll down on your phone to the comments box, just underneath it says 'full version'. Click that and it opens up the normal page as if using a pc. You can then add pictures to your posts xx

#66677 Males Together

I'm going to say no. I don't think I have the experience needed for it and if things went wrong and they didn't like each other we would be in trouble.
I don't have the space either to make the outdoor area big enough for 2.

I feel a bit bad because you always want to help don't you but it's not right for Hank and I'm still a beginner in the tortoise world lol

Thanks xxx

#66669 Confused Newbie Whose Inherited....

Hi, I'm a Newby too. Everyone on here has been fantastic.
I took Hank on a few months ago he is 6 years old and was in a vivarium with a head pad too. I bought some wooden drawers off ebay for £15 and put him in there with some soil, rocks and plants. He loves his broken plant pot as a hide (he has never had a hide). The difference in him immediately was amazing, he just seems so much happier.

I've been working on an outdoor area, I'm nearly there. I know how you feel, I've panicked all the way through this adventure but everyone here has helped me. It's not been that difficult getting the electrics sorted outside either. The thought of it all is bigger than it is to put it together. We bought a frost heater off ebay too they are pretty cheap.
Just look around for things, most things you might already have or friends and neighbours might be getting rid of. xxx

Hi, no it wasn't that, I just want to get it right. I do appreciate your advise. I am just a stress head about tortoise enclosures it seems lol.

I will keep plodding on xxx

That's amazing! Thanks, I really appreciate your help. I just couldn't get my head round the lamps lol.
I'm excited about getting him outside. Just seeing how happy he has been in his table from a vivarium is really encouraging. He has never hibernated though so that will be the next scarey step I will nag you all about lol.
I will send some pics of his house as I go along!

Thank you xxx

#66267 So Proud

Thanks Karen, I'm really pleased

He is so clever too, ive turned the lights out and he just tucks himself up to go to sleep. He still sits in the warm area though, I think that's because she had the heat mat on at night so maybe he is feeling the cold a little more than usual?

I know it's only temporary but I am so proud of my hubby today. He has managed to build Hank a new home built from a couple of sets of drawers we bought off eBay last night.
Hank has only been with us 2 days and we are new to all this but he is already in a better place. No more vivarium, sawdust or pellets.

I think he is happy, he has explored a lot and eaten his tea?

Next plan....outdoor space! Attached File  image.jpeg   56.75KB   1 downloadsAttached File  image.jpeg   30.84KB   0 downloadsAttached File  image.jpeg   56.1KB   0 downloads

#66256 Jenny And Hank

Posted by JenB on 08 May 2016 - 06:37 AM

Hi, I'm Jenny and this is Hank!

Hank arrived with us yesterday and I have already learnt so much, thanks to these guys. Hank was originally a Toby but he comes across as a tough cookie and walks like a cowboy so we renamed him to something macho 😂😂😂

Hank is a Hermann's and is 6 years old. He needs a change in habitat and some UV light but we're on it and by this afternoon, he is going to think he is in heavenAttached File  image.jpeg   62.31KB   1 downloadsAttached File  image.jpeg   62.31KB   1 downloads

Ahh, I didn't think of that but now you have said it, it's quite obvious really.
Do I need to sprinkle calcium on his food daily?

Honestly I can't thank you enough for this, never mind Toby (now named Hank) I feel less stressed already lol
