Hi
Thanks for worming advice I will get onto it.
Yes we have the heat lamp and she is in good heated temperature. She came out of hibernation in a bad way the previous owner over wintered in the garden as in outside in a cold frame in the garden soil. They were both a bit unwell as the winter wasn't great I guess. The lady was giving them away to new homes so hopefully they will all be happier now.
Lance has been hand feeding her which she seems to be responding to again which is a good sign. With advice from you putting things in place I am sure she will be ok. You mentioned briefly about a short hibernation may be possible? I guess if hot they will stay awake to fool there natural instinct. But I would nearer the time appreciate advice on if this is even possible for Petal and how to do it safely if at all.
Thanks again

#66795 My Baby Marginated Tortoise Enclosure

Posted by Lance on 20 August 2016 - 08:31 PM

Hi Karen
Thank you, when I get back from holiday I will change the sand to more soil. Peach had started to eat when in clover outside so I have planted some in the indoor enclosure. I was wondering how long until the little one is happier to be out and about like my 5year olds I am careful not to handle as you advised hardly at all and watch from not too close so peach gets happy in his home. He has put on the weight lost so think all going well. I will take more photo when I get back from holiday.

#66610 Two Hermanns Babies Not Getting Along

Posted by Lance on 12 July 2016 - 02:57 PM

Hi I have two tortoises one is bigger than the other .They climb on one and other but they don't seem to mined each other doing it.Some times they bite at each other but get along after and they don't get violent. They have 60 g different in Wight roughly.I feed them by putting food in different parts of the enclosure so it means both have there far share and it means they have to find it too, this might not be the right thing to do and I would listen to Karen more than me.

Hope this is of use to you and yore tortoises Lance
